Executive Management Series

Overview

The Executive Management Series is scheduled biannually in the spring and fall to address a variety of pressing issues of importance to the community’s business leaders. Topics addressed since the series’ premier in 1999 have included recruitment and retention challenges, e-commerce issues, marketing trends, and leadership in difficult times. The events also introduce participants to Penn State resources. This enables them to further address problems their organizations may be experiencing related to the topics of discussion in the series.

If there is a topic you are interested in learning about that would serve your business needs, please email us at wbce@outreach.psu.edu. Your input is very valuable to us and your ideas are welcome.

Spring 2016 - History of the Brewing Industry in Northeastern Pennsylvania: Proud Past, Promising Future

From Stegmaier, Gibbons, and Bartels to SBC, North Slope, and Lionshead, the brewing of beer has always been an important part of the northeastern Pennsylvania's economy and culture. Our speakers described the brewing industry's historically dominant role in our community, the decline of America's local breweries in the late 20th century, and the industry's resent resurgence - one fueled by today's craft brewing revolution.

Keynote Speakers were: Fred Maier – Vice President, Susquehanna Brewing Company; Mark Joseph Riccetti Jr. – Director of Operations, Luzerne County Historical Society; and Sam Warren – Owner, North Slope Brewing Company.

Check back in early Fall 2016 for announcement of the next scheduled executive management forum.
