Northern Tier Center

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre Northern Tier Center, located in Bradford County, was established in 1986 under the direction of the Penn State Wilkes-Barre Continuing Education Department. The mission of the Northern Tier Center is to extend the resources of the University to Bradford and Sullivan Counties, which are largely rural areas of Northeast Pennsylvania not readily accessible to a Penn State campus.

Services for Companies

Continuing Education at the Northern Tier Center offers many services to companies in Bradford and Sullivan counties to help them develop their workforce and competitive advantage. See the Services for Companies section for more information.

Programming for Educators

Graduate courses for educators are a major component of the Northern Tier’s programming effort. These courses are designed primarily for teachers who are working towards permanent certification and satisfying Act 48 requirements. Penn State is an approved Act-48 provider. View the Act 48 reporting instructions.

The TICKET (Technology Integration Certificate for K-12 Educators of Tomorrow) program offers the curriculum and training teachers need to incorporate technology into the teaching and learning process. Teachers completing the certificate will earn 15 graduate credits, which can also be used towards a Penn State Master of Education degree.
