For the Future campaign

We ask you to join us in the most ambitious fundraising campaign in Penn State’s history — For the Future: the Campaign for Penn State Students.

At its heart, the campaign is a campaign for Penn State students—to enable the next generation and all succeeding generations of graduates to realize their full potential as individuals—to sustain their families, advance their professions, and contribute to our country’s strength. It is also a campaign to enable Penn State to realize its full potential as an institution to create prosperity and enhance quality of life.

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre campaign goals include:

  • Ensuring Student Opportunity to provide students who have the ability and ambition to attend this university the opportunity to do so through scholarship support;
  • Enriching the Student Experience to allow students to thrive in a stimulating atmosphere that fosters global involvement, community service, creative expression, and personal growth;
  • Building Faculty Strength and Capacity to assure that students will study with the finest teachers and researchers;
  • Sustaining a Tradition of Quality to secure an enhanced educational and research environment for students and faculty with continuing philanthropic support.

Many of the University's finest accomplishments have been made possible by men and women who have chosen to benefit future generations of Penn Staters. There are a variety of ways to make a gift to Penn State Wilkes-Barre, and our Development Office looks forward to working with you to help provide a better future for the University and our students.

As a commuter campus, the majority of Penn State Wilkes-Barre students are residents of the Greater Wilkes-Barre Area and surrounding communities. Many full time and part time students maintain jobs to enable them to pay for tuition.  As well, many students attending our campus are first-generation pursuing a higher education degree. Due to the rising costs of tuition, the average debt of a student graduating from Penn State Wilkes-Barre is $33,586. Penn State depends on the private philanthropic support of donors to assist deserving students who would not be able to pursue and attain their degree without this financial assistance.

No gift is too small. Every donation, when combined with the generosity of hundreds of other donations, will have a positive and lasting impact on Penn State Wilkes-Barre and the students we serve.
