12/8/2003 —John Reddy, head of the business program at Penn State Wilkes-Barre, was recently named Penn Stater of the Quarter, announced Dr. Mary E. Hines, campus executive officer. The Penn Stater of the Quarter is a member of the campus community who has uniquely demonstrated special concern for the campus community, has achieved a significant honor or goal that benefits the campus, or demonstrates special dedication to the mission of the campus. Despite the fact that he was already teaching a large section of business students this past summer, Reddy also worked with 15 students for independent study without compensation. He also offered an independent study option for adult students enrolled in the business curriculum who could not attend classes during the day because of their work schedules. Through his generosity, Reddy has helped many business students progress towards their degree by extending himself to serve their needs. Reddy, a Boston native, has taught at the campus since 1988 upon retiring from a 32-year career at AT&T. He earned his BA in economics from Boston University and his MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
