Regional History Day competition scheduled for March 25

3/7/2006 —
Students from area schools in grades 6-12 are invited to participate in the National History Day competition at Penn State Wilkes-Barre on Saturday, March 25. Students participating in History Day examine, research, and analyze historical events, then present them creatively through documentaries, exhibits, papers, and performances.

Each year approximately half a million students nationwide participate in National History Day. This year's theme is Taking a Stand in History: People, Ideas, Events. Students can choose to examine little-known local individuals or incidents or well-publicized nationally or internationally recognized individuals or incidents.

The event is open to the public and begins at 9:00am. For more information, please contact Jennifer Stombaugh at 675-9192.
