New director of academic affairs welcomed

Dr. Theodora Jankowski has accepted the position of director of academic affairs at Penn State Wilkes-Barre. Dr. Jankowski comes to the campus from Erie Community College in Buffalo, NY, where she was associate vice-president for academic affairs/liberal arts and allied health. Previously she served as assistant dean of students at Norwich University and director of credit programs at Utica College.

As director of academic affairs, Dr. Jankowski will represent the interests of academic affairs and the faculty at the Wilkes-Barre campus. Included in her responsibilities are academic affairs management, representing academic affairs in this community; faculty recruitment, assessment and development; and general administration of the academic affairs operation of Penn State Wilkes-Barre.

Dr. Jankowski earned her bachelor's and master's degrees from Hunter College and her doctorate from Syracuse University. She is well published within her discipline, including two scholarly books and numerous journals and conference proceedings in English literature.
