Penn State Wilkes-Barre Continuing Education Announces New Spring Programs

The Department of Continuing Education at Penn State Wilkes-Barre proudly announces a new variety of programs beginning this spring.

“Right now we have an OSHA 10-Hour Training program geared toward the construction industry as well as The Course in Community Planning with a Natural Gas Development Exercise, ideal for municipalities, Realtors, attorneys, planners, and engineers,” said Jane Ashton, Director of Continuing Education at Penn State Wilkes-Barre. “We strive to serve everyone in our local communities through many different offerings and always look for feedback and input from community members.”

Other professional development offerings with Penn State Wilkes-Barre Continuing Education include a Supervision Essentials training program and a Supply Chain Management course, programs set to begin this spring.

“We can also customize education and training to fit the specific needs of business and industry partners,” said Janet Rosenbaum, Assistant Director of Continuing Education at the campus.

Penn State Wilkes-Barre Continuing Education also offers personal enrichment programs, such as Computer Training for the 21st Century, featuring Windows 7 Overview and Transitions into Office 2010 seminars, which are designed to bring computer users up to date with the latest changes to computer operating systems and software.

The campus will also host a movie and discussion series this spring, celebrating five movies that examine the human condition: “The Hiding Place,” “The Madness of King George,” “Chariots of Fire,” “The Crucible,” and “Mr. Holland’s Opus.”
