Erected in 1986, the Fran Brown Memorial Gazebo sits on the south side of Hayfield House near the Robert A. Rave Family Pond. It was funded by Penn State Wilkes-Barre employees who wanted to honor Ms. Brown with a permanent structure in her memory. Brown served as switchboard operator at the campus until her death in 1986.
