Golf Finishes 4th in Second Match

9/8/14 – The Penn State Wilkes-Barre golf team finished fifth in their second match of the 2014 season. Seven teams competed in the Penn State DuBois Invitational, with Wilkes-Barre shooting a 393. The Mountain Lions were led by Jeff Carter, with a score of 83. The team will travel to a match hosted by Penn State Schuylkill, Friday September 19. 

Golf Finishes 4th in First Match

9/4/14 – The Penn State Wilkes-Barre golf team finished fourth on their first match of the 2014 season. Seven teams competed in the match, with Wilkes-Barre shooting a score of 374. The Mountain Lions were led by Jeff Carter (80), Mike Carey (93), and Joe Murray (97). The team will next travel to a match hosted by Penn State DuBois on Monday, September 8th at 11am.

Two Golfers Honored for Academics

10/9/13 – Junior Zachary Aciukewicz and senior Matthew Boozer were both honored at the PSUAC/USCAA National Championships on Tuesday afternoon for their success in the classroom. Zachary and Matthew were both named as USCAA Academic All-Americans. Congratulations to both student-athletes!

Golf Finishes Fourth at National Championships

10/8/13 – Golf finished fourth overall in PSUAC at PSUAC/USCAA National Championships. Jeff Carter paced the team, shooting an 87 on both days. Matt Boozer had the low score of 84 on the second day. View the complete results.

Golf Finishes Third at Hazleton Match

9/30/13 – Penn State Wilkes-Barre traveled to Penn State Hazleton for the PSUAC Hazleton match on Thursday. The Mountain Lions finished third overall out of eight PSUAC schools. Senior Matt Boozer (New Bethlehem, PA) finished the day with a 79, while freshman Jeff Carter (Dallas, PA) and sophomore Rob Reilly (Wilks-Barre, PA) each shot an 89. Freshman Michael Stelacone (Lothian, MD) shot a 92 and freshman Matt Kocher (Hanover Township, PA) finished with a 101. The golf team will be traveling to State College, PA on October 6th-8th for their PSUAC/USCAA Championship match.

Golf Finishes Fourth at Home Match

9/26/13 – Penn State Wilkes-Barre hosted the PSUAC Invitational (Dallas, PA) on Thursday at Irem Temple Golf Course. The Mountain Lions finished fourth overall out of six PSUAC schools. Freshman Jeff Carter (Dallas, PA) finished the day with a score of 85. Senior Matt Boozer (New Bethlehem, PA) finished with a 94, freshman Matt Kocher (Hanover Township, PA) finished with a 94, sophomore Billy Gray (Harding, PA) finished with a 105, and freshman Mike Mulea (Dallas, PA) finished with a 115. The golf team will be traveling to Hazleton, PA, on Monday, September 30, for their next PSUAC match.

Golf Team Finishes Fifth in Schuylkill Invitational 

9/19/13 – The Penn State Wilkes-Barre golf team traveled to Schuylkill to compete in the Schuylkill Invitational (PSUAC) on Wednesday. The Mountain Lions finished 5th overall out of 7 PSUAC schools. Senior Matt Boozer (New Bethlehem, PA) finished with a low of 79.  Freshman Jeff Carter (Dallas, PA) finished the day with a score of 87, while freshman Matt Kocher (Hanover Township, PA) shot a 89. Sophmore Rob Riley scored a 92, sophomore Billy Grey had a score of 98 and freshman Mike Stelacone (Lothian, MD) finished with a score of 103. The golf team will be hosting their home match in Dallas, PA, on Thursday, September 26, in PSUAC competition.

Wilkes-Barre Finishes Fifth in Penn College Tournament

9/9/13 – The Penn State Wilkes-Barre golf team traveled to Williamsport to compete in the Penn College Tournament (PSUAC) on Monday. The Mountain Lions finished fifth overall out of nine PSUAC schools. Freshman Jeff Carter (Dallas, PA) finished the day with a score of 80, while junior Zach Aciukewicz (Dallas, PA) finished with an 87.  Senior Matt Boozer (New Bethlehem, PA) finished with a 91, freshman Matt Kocher (Hanover Township, PA) shot a 102 and freshman Mike Stelacone (Lothian, MD) finished with a score of 106. The team will be traveling to Schuylkill Haven, PA on Thursday, September 19 for their next PSUAC match. 

Wilkes-Barre Golf Opens Season at Mont Alto

9/4/13 – Penn State Wilkes-Barre competed at the PSUAC Penn State Mont Alto Tournament (Penn National-Founders Course, Fayetteville, PA) on Wednesday. The Mountain Lions finished 5th overall out of 9 PSUAC schools.  Junior Zach Aciukewicz (Dallas, PA) and freshman Jeff Carter (Dallas, PA) finished the day with a score of 84. Senior Matt Boozer (New Bethlehem, PA) finished with an 85, sophomore Billy Gray (Harding, PA) finished with a 91, sophomore Rob Reilly (Wilkes-Barre, PA) finished with a 99 and freshman Mike Stelacone (Lothian, MD) finished with a score of 101. The team will be traveling to Williamsport, PA on Monday, September 9 for their next PSUAC match, the Penn College Tournament.
