Volleyball’s Acevedo Honored by PSUAC

11/12/14 - Freshman volleyball player Brittany Acevedo was recognized by the PSUAC, earning All-Conference Honorable Mention honors. Congratulations to Brittany!

Volleyball Wins Both Matches Against Worthington Scranton

10/10/14 – Wilkes-Barre won the first match versus PSU Worthington Scranton 3 sets to 2. Kahli Kotulski had 18 kills and 9 digs, Brittany Acevedo had 10 kills with 6 digs and Jacqueline Rabender came up big with 26 assists and 6 server aces. In the second match The Lady Lions won 3 sets to 0. Shatunel Williams led the team with 7 kills and 4 digs, Kahli Kotulski also had 6 kills. This was the last game of the season for the Lady Lions ending with a record of 6-10. PSU Wilkes-Barre volleyball recently held their Dig Pink game to show their support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Penn State Wilkes-Barre Volleyball Wins Against Penn State DuBois

10/8/14 – PSU Wilkes-Barre volleyball beat Penn State DuBois at DuBois, 3 sets to 0. Kahli Kotulski led the team with 16 kills and 10 digs, while Jordan Chiavarri had 28 assists. The Lady Lions play their next match at Penn State Worthington Scranton in a double match on October 10th at 4:00 pm.

PSU W-B Volleyball Wins Big Against Schuylkill, but Drops to Brandywine

10/5/14 – Penn State Wilkes-Barre volleyball fell to PSU Brandywine at Media, 3 sets to 0. Brittany Acevedo led the team in kills with 4, and Jacqueline Rabender led the team with 7 assists. The Lady Lions went on to win their match against PSU Schuylkill, 3 sets to 0. Kahli Kotulski led the team with 13 kills, Brittany Acevedo ended the game with 8 kills and 7 digs, and Jacqueline Rabender ended with 21 assists. The Lady Lions (3-10) play Penn State DuBois home on October 8th at 7 pm.

Penn State Wilkes-Barre Volleyball Falls to Penn State Mont Alto and York

10/4/14 – Penn State Wilkes-Barre volleyball lost two matches to Penn State Mont Alto away, both 3 sets to 0. In game one Brittany Acevedo led the team with 4 kills, while Kahli Kotulski and Shauntel Williams each had 6 digs. The team also fell to Penn State York, 3 sets to 0. The Lady Lions (2-8) play next at Penn State Brandywine, Media, PA at noon on October 5th.

Wilkes-Barre Loses to Lehigh Valley

10/2/14 – The Penn State Wilkes-Barre volleyball team lost their match against Penn State Lehigh Valley, 3 sets to 1. The Lady Lions play again at Penn State Mont Alto on October 4th at 12 pm.

PSU W-B Volleyball vs. Penn State Hazleton

9/30/14 – The Penn State Wilkes-Barre volleyball team won their match against Penn State Hazleton 3 sets to 0 on September 30th at Hazelton. The Lady Lions play again at home on October 2nd at 6 pm.

Volleyball Loses to New Kensington and Fayette

9/28/14 – The Penn State Wilkes-Barre women’s volleyball team lost to Penn State New Kensington 3-0 (25-14, 25-20, 25-23) in a quad match September 28th at home. Kahli Kotuski led the team with 12 kills and 5 digs. The team also lost their second match of the quad against Penn State Fayette 3-0 (25-14, 25-4, 25-12). The Lady Lions next play Penn State Hazleton at home, September 30th at 6 pm.

Volleyball Falls to Penn State Beaver and Greater Allegheny

9/27/14 – Penn State Wilkes-Barre lost to PSU Beaver on Saturday during a quad match at home. The Mountain Lions lost 3-0 (13-25, 16-25, 21-25). Kahli Kotulski led the team with 9 kills and 2 digs while Brittany Acevedo had 8 service aces for the match.

The team also fell to Penn State Greater Allegheny, losing 3 sets to 0 (14-25, 23-25, 11-25). Kahli Kotulski led the team with 4 kills and 5 digs; Jacqueline Rabender had 3 service aces for the match. PSU Wilkes Barre’s next game will be at Penn State Worthington Scranton, September 28th at 12 pm.

Volleyball Wins First of Season at PSU Hazleton

9/18/14 – The Penn State Wilkes-Barre volleyball team (1-1 PSUAC) won their first game of the season with a sweep of Penn State Hazleton. The match was played at Penn State Hazleton, with Wilkes-Barre winning each of the three sets (25-18, 25-15, 25-7). The Lady Mountain Lions were led by former Lake Lehman High School players Brittany Acevedo (9 aces and 14 service points) and Kahli Katulski (12 kills). Former Holy Redeemer High School player Alison Rowski added 16 digs for Wilkes-Barre. The team will next play at home on Saturday, September 27th in a quad meet that begins at 2:00 pm. Wilkes-Barre will face Penn State Beaver at 2:00 pm and Penn State Greater Allegheny at 3:30 pm.
