Women’s Basketball Falls to Penn State Worthington Scranton

1/23/15 – The Penn State Wilkes-Barre women’s basketball team lost their home game to Penn State Worthington Scranton 57-51 on Friday night. The team started off strong, leading the entire first half and a majority of the second half. Scranton moved ahead with seven minutes left to play. Wilkes-Barre came roaring back with less than 50 seconds left in the second half when Katelyn McLaughlin shot a go ahead three. Scranton eventually tied it up to push the game into overtime. With some of the Lady Lion’s key players in foul trouble, Scranton pulled ahead and won the contest. Wilkes-Barre was led by Breana Moore’s 24 points and Katelyn McLaughlin’s outstanding double-double. With the loss, the team drops to 5-9 and 2-6 in PSUAC. The team plays Penn State Greater Allegheny at 8pm this Friday night at home.

Women’s Basketball Stumbles vs. Penn State Hazleton

1/19/15 – The Penn State Wilkes-Barre women’s basketball team lost their away game vs. Penn State Hazleton 57-64 on Monday afternoon. The team fought back to push the game into overtime, but fell short against the 13-2 Penn State Hazleton Lady Lions. With the loss, the team falls to 6-8 overall and 3-5 in PSUAC. Wilkes-Barre was led by Breana Moore’s 17 points, while Jacqueline Rabender added 13 points. The team will try to avenge this loss when they play against Penn State Worthington Scranton at home Friday, January 23th at 6pm.

Women’s Basketball Defeated at NCAA DIII’s Kings

01/08/15 – The Penn State Wilkes-Barre (3-7 overall, 0-4 PSUAC) women’s basketball team fell at NCAA Division III opponent Kings College 71-30 on Thursday night. Breana Moore led the scoring with 12 points, while Jacqueline Rabender added 11 rebounds for Wilkes-Barre. This was the first game after the holiday break for the Mountain Lions. The team will next travel to Schuylkill Haven, PA to play at Penn State Schuylkill on Thursday, January 15th at 6pm in a PSUAC matchup.

Women’s Basketball Puts Up Great Effort But Falls Short vs Penn State Hazleton

12/12/14 – The Penn State Wilkes-Barre women's basketball team (3-6 overall, 0-4 PSUAC) put out a tremendous effort before falling to 59-45 vs. Penn State Hazleton on Friday night. Breana Moore led the scoring with 23 points, while Jacqueline Rabender added 10 points and 7 rebounds for Wilkes-Barre. This was the final game before the holiday break for the Mountain Lions. The team will return after the new year to play at Kings College on Thursday, January 8th at 6pm.

Moore’s 25 Points Not Enough For Wilkes-Barre at Penn State Fayette

12/6/14 – The Penn State Wilkes-Barre women's basketball team (3-6 overall, 0-3 PSUAC) lost at Penn State Fayette on Saturday afternoon 66-56, despite big nights from Breana Moore and Jaqueline Rabender. Moore led Wilkes-Barre with 25 points, while Rabender finished with 19. The team will next host PSUAC North rival Penn State Hazleton on Tuesday, December 9th for a 6pm tip off.

Penn State Lehigh Valley vs. Wilkes-Barre Women’s Basketball

12/3/14 – The Penn State Wilkes-Barre women’s basketball team (3-4) lost their home conference opener to Penn State Lehigh Valley with a final score of 84-52. The Lady Mountain Lions are now 0-2 in conference play. The team was led by Breana Moore, who put up 14 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 steals. Katie McLaughlin contributed 12 points to the scoring, with four three-pointers. The Lady Mountain Lions will travel to Penn State Fayette Saturday, December 6th; the tip off will be at 1 pm.

Women’s Basketball Takes on Penn State Brandywine

11/23/14 – The Penn State Wilkes-Barre women’s basketball team  (3-3 overall) lost their conference opener (0-1 PSUAC) on the road at Penn State Brandywine, with a final score of 45-57. The Lady Mountain Lions were led by Shauntel Williams, who scored 13 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Sierra Eskridge also put in a good performance, getting 13 rebounds, 3 steals, and 7 points. The Lady Mountain Lions will play their first home conference game against Penn State Lehigh Valley on December 3rd at 6pm.

Penn State Wilkes-Barre Women’s Basketball vs. Davis College

11/21/14 – The Penn State Wilkes-Barre women’s basketball team (3-2) ended their losing streak at two by defeating Davis to a 61-49 victory. The Lady Mountain Lions were led by Jackie Rabender, who had a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Also contributing to the victory was Katie McLaughlin, with 16 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 blocks. The Lady Mountain Lions will open up their conference play at Penn State Brandywine on Sunday, November 23th at 6pm.

Penn State Wilkes-Barre Women’s Basketball vs. Bryn Athyn College

11/16/14 – The Penn State Wilkes-Barre women’s basketball team (2-2) lost their second straight game to Bryn Athyn College with a final score of 60-69. The Lady Mountain Lions were led by Jackie Rabender, who scored 14 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, and got 2 steals. Simone Person coming off the bench grabbed 10 rebounds (3 of them offensive). The Lady Mountain Lions will play their next game on Friday, November 21st at 7pm at Davis.

Penn State Wilkes-Barre Women’s Basketball vs. Centenary College

11/15/14 – The Penn State Wilkes-Barre (2-1) women’s basketball team lost to Centenary College with a final score of 30-70. The Lady Mountain Lions were led by Breana Moore with 12 points and 4 rebounds. Katie McLaughlin also added 6 points, 6 rebounds, a steal and a blocked shot. The Lady Mountain Lion's next game is Sunday, November 16th, against Bryn Athyn College at Centenary College.

Penn State Wilkes-Barre Women’s Basketball vs. Luzerne CC

11/13/14 – The Penn State Wilkes-Barre women’s basketball team (2-0) won their second game of the season and first road game against Luzerne Community College with the final score of 69-42. The Lady Lions were led by Katie McLaughlin, who scored 17 points and drained 3 threes. Jackie Rabender scored 16 points in the game (12 in the second half). The Lady Mountain Lions’ next game is November 15th at Centenary College.

Central Penn vs. Penn State Wilkes-Barre Women’s Basketball

11/10/14 – The Penn State Wilkes-Barre women’s basketball team (1-0) won their season and home opener in overtime against Central Penn with a final score of 47-52. The Lady Mountain Lions were led by Breana Moore’s double-double, racking up 13 points and 10 rebounds. Sierra Eskridge also added to the mix with 7 points and 17 rebounds. The Lady Mountain Lions forced 26 turnovers in the win. The team's next game is November 13th at Luzerne Community College.
