About the Coaches
This upcoming season will be coach Regan Palfey's fourteenth year coaching Women's Volleyball at Penn State Wilkes-Barre. She herself is a Penn State Wilkes-Barre volleyball alumna. She received the MVP and John Egli awards when she attended our campus in 1996-97. Prior to coaching volleyball here, she coached a high-school team and a junior-high team for two years in Virginia, where they won District Championships. For the past few years she has also been running volleyball camps for 6th-8th grade students along with a separate camp for students in grades 9-12. Outstide of coaching volleyball at Penn State Wilkes-Barre, Coach Palfey teaches third grade at Dallas Elementary School. She also coaches middle school softball for Dallas School District. She is a Penn State Blue Band alumna, and she also gives trumpet lessons on the side. Regan received her bachelor's degree at Penn State University for Elementary Education and also received her Master's Degree at Wilkes University for Classroom Technology.
Assistant Coach Elizabeth Pohlidal has been volunteering her time and experience with our women's team for the past eight years. This is her sixth year as our assistant coach. Elizabeth is also a Penn State Wilkes-Barre Women's Volleyball alumna. She received the MVP and John Egli Award when she attended our campus in 2004. She then went to Penn State University Park and played on their women's rugby team where she became a National Champion. Elizabeth graduated from Penn State University with a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology. She recently obtained her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Scranton. She is now a physical therapist at the Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Dallas, PA.
