Student Services

As a student at Penn State Wilkes-Barre, you have a wide range of student services available to you. Follow the links to the left for more information on any of these services:

Academic Advising — Advising Services offers academic advising and course scheduling; assistance with change of major, change of assignment, and student leave of absence processes; and personal counseling.

Bookstore — Visit the Bookstore to get your textbooks, school supplies, and Penn State memorabilia.

Career Services — The mission of Career Services is to provide career counseling and help students get ready for the job market.

Disability Services — Disability Services determines reasonable accommodations and develops plans for the provision of such academic adjustments and accommodations as are needed.

Financial Aid — The Office of Student Financial Aid can guide students through the process of applying for financial aid.

Food Services — The Café Commons offers a wide selection from 7:30am to 2pm Monday through Friday. Catering Services are also available.

Health Services — Health Services offers primary care (sick visits) as well as specialized health services to the campus community.

Information Technology — Information Technology Services (ITS) provides a wide array of technology and communication services for students, faculty and staff.

Learning Center — At the Learning Center, students can get tutoring assistance in a wide range of subjects, work on homework, improve their skills in reading and writing, use computers and access the Internet, read and do schoolwork between classes, and get tips on how to study.

Library — The Nesbitt Library provides access to the resources of Penn State’s entire University Libraries collection through the computerized Library Information Access System (LIAS).

Personal Counseling — Personal Counseling Services are offered free of charge to students who are struggling with personal issues such as stress, depression, a breakup, parental divorce, eating disorders, etc.

Registrar — The Registrar's Office provides enrollment, registration, scheduling, graduation and transcript services.

Safety and Police Services — Safety and Police Services exists to ensure a safe environment on campus. In addition, Safety and Police Services is also responsible for parking enforcement and traffic control.

Student Support Services — The Student Support Services (SSS) program provides academic support, career and personal counseling, and social activities to students who qualify.

Veterans’ Services — Veterans’ Services can asist students who are veterans of the Armed Services to apply for financial assistance through the U.S. Veterans’ Administration.
